Mayans: The Mid- Mayans

     

The Mayans were a group that started around 1000 B.C. and ended around 1542 A.D. The middle of their years, around 300 B.C. to 900 A.D., was called the classic period. Maya farmers made themselves more known during this time. There was also the rise of the Mesoamerican civilization, the Olmecs. They continued to to develop more intellectual ideas and better artwork and statues. The later years of the classic period were the best years for the Mayan civilization. Art, culture, and religion reached their highest points. There was a lot of trade and alliances, as well as some wars. The classic period was the Mayans best period of time.
